You know those movies in which there are a bunch of third-world migrant labourers, all living in a small flat in a first-world city, grandmother and grandfather both working full-time, their daughter working, sharing her bedroom with her aunt, who stays home to look after the baby, who also sleeps in the same room, and the rest of the family is back in the "old country"?
OK, well the people in that movie are my family, and Ma is the aunt in that story; Ània is the daughter (who has recently given birth to a baby); oom Jannie and tannie Laura have been working in England for some time, and Ània and husband Locke already spent a couple of years working there before.
Ma will leave sometime in May, and return before the end of July. I hope that she will be able to go to Stoke Ferry while she is in England to visit Mikhailo's Mum. They have never met before. Stoke Ferry is within easy driving distance of Oakham, where Ma can stay over with Lisa Kirstein (Doug & Rita Coghlan's daughter). |
Mikhailo, Mum and Mikhailo's brother Borys several years ago when Mikhailo was on a business trip to England.
