The Melnyczuk Family Web Site

Quick pics of December 2004 to January 2005

I am putting up a few pictures because this Web site has got out of date again. I don't really have time to do a proper job with eloquent text, and also, my laptop is still in Atlanta, so I can't update the site from home.

On the way back from Ohann's wedding, we stopped in Worcester and had lunch at a coffee shop.
Isn't it amazing how the self-timer managed to catch all of us looking at our most dweebish?

I thought I'd put up this pic because people who see this in our fridge usually find it amusing. It is simply how we distinguish the hard-boiled eggs from the raw ones.

Me on holiday near Robertson.

This was the dam where I discovered that I enjoy paddling around alone in a canoe.

I had been wanting to go on holiday to a place which is unbearably hot, and this was certainly the case at the last place I stayed on my trip. This was my view of the Breede River from my tent. It was so hot in the afternoons that I would walk into the river, dress and all, and soak my towel, then put it down on the bed and lie on it. Everything evaporated by nightfall.

The eat-all-you-want floating restaurant which chugs along with a slow outboard motor every morning throughout the year. I went along twice, although the second time it was just for the joyride, because I would have been left alone at the campsite otherwise, and I decided to tag along with two German tourists, Daniel and Ellen (with whom I'd had supper the night before) as they went on the breakfast ride.
