Anton and Leia are not very well. Anton has a tummy problem, which requires us to cook special food for him (which, interestingly enough, is turning out to be cheaper than regular dogfood!). Leia is very old and bony now, and if we cannot persuade her to go out for a wee late at night, she can't hold it until morning. Her short-term memory is not good either, but she's happy enough anyway! | Mikhailo has gone and invented a whole lot of new food systems. We can't say more until they're patented. I don't even remember how many patents he has now! Neil Balfour and Gregg are very excited about the way Rex Food Technologies is developing. Ània had her baby recently (on the 9th, if I remember correctly); mass 3.6 kg, length 52.5 cm. He has the family names, but is nicknamed Luka. Ilani and Nadya have both gone overseas — Ilani for a Wandeljahr, and Nadya as a buyer for Pep Stores — her new job. (Imagine that, being paid to shop!) She will also be visiting oom Jannie and tannie Laura on the same trip. Mikhailo has lost weight (2 belt-holes); so have I, but I don't know how much (I am starting to fit into some of my older clothes, but my guess is that I am still about 4 kg away from my goal). Ma is also on diet, using Michaelo's Miracle Mystery Formula X. My friend Bridgette needs to have an operation soon; one of the disks in her back has degenerated. I am hoping for a major change in the church following Henry Kriete's open letter. From what I've heard, most of the local church leaders don't seem to "get it", though...

One morning, the chicken crowed only once, and when the children went outside later, they saw only feathers... probably a dog or a cat; he wasn't scared of dogs, because he had lived with ours before. Anyway, he "had his oats" before he died: the hen which we had bought for him is laying eggs. This was the last picture I took of him with his hen. |
